⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

We have seen Manoj Bajpayee in intense roles before ( Gangs of Wasseypur , The Family Man ), but here he plays a broken, average man—not a hero. Watch his eyes as he listens to the call. He doesn’t shout or punch anyone. His terror is internal, and that is far more frightening. Dial 100 Marathi Movie

One night, he receives a frantic call from a woman, (played by Neena Gupta ), who claims she has been kidnapped and is trapped in a locked flat. She is terrified, crying, and begs him to send help. What starts as a routine rescue mission quickly spirals into a psychological maze. Nikhil realizes that nothing about the call is what it seems. The kidnapper (a chilling Sakshi Tanwar ) seems to know Nikhil personally. Soon, the rescuer becomes the suspect, and the police station becomes a cage. What Works Brilliantly 1. Single-Location Mastery Almost the entire film takes place inside the police control room. No car chases, no flashy outdoor shots—just a room full of phones, screens, and tension. This forces the audience to focus entirely on the characters’ faces, voices, and emotions. It feels like a stage play but with cinematic tightness. His terror is internal, and that is far more frightening

Neena Gupta, with just her voice on the phone for most of the film, creates unbearable suspense. You feel her helplessness. And Sakshi Tanwar (famous as Parvati bhabhi from Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii ) delivers a shocking performance as the antagonist. She is cold, calculated, and deeply tragic. You will never see her the same way again.

When we think of Marathi cinema, we often think of heartfelt family dramas, social commentaries, or historical biopics. But every once in a while, a film comes along that proves Marathi filmmakers can master the thriller genre just as effectively. Dial 100 (2021) is one such gem.
