Unlike previous Digimon dubs (which aired on Fox Kids or UPN), Data Squad debuted directly on cable via the Jetix block, resulting in lower mainstream visibility. The story follows Marcus Damon (JP: Masaru Daimon), a hot-headed teenage delinquent with a unique fighting style: he punches first and asks questions later. After a chance encounter with a small dinosaur-like Digimon named Agumon , Marcus is recruited into DATS (Digital Accident Tactics Squad)—a secret government organization tasked with dealing with Digimon that illegally cross into the human world.
