"Hiding in the study, as usual."
"I didn't. But every old Bengali man has a Darjeeling story. It's a 99% safe bet."
"What?"
"I'm not hungry."
[They both laugh. Riya hugs Ayan.]
"No, I will NOT apologize! He forgot our anniversary! Twenty-five years, and he spends it watching cricket!"
"Baba! I brought your favorite – Mochar Ghonto from that shop near Deshapriya Park."
"That's what we're here for."
"Let me tell you a secret. Last month, I forgot Riya's doctor's appointment. She didn't talk to me for two days. You know what I did?"
[They all sit for breakfast. Mrs. Sen serves Ayan first – a huge portion.]
[The Sen household is in chaos. Mrs. Sen is yelling into the phone. Her daughter, Riya, is sitting on the sofa, arms crossed, crying.]
[Mr. Sen almost smiles.]
Ayan enters. Mr. Sen is pretending to read a newspaper upside down.
"Eat, Jamai Raja. You've saved the kingdom again."
