Jj Bot V3 -

But Aris saw something else.

Then a child ran into the street. A real one, not a simulation. Seven years old, brown hair, screaming.

Then she looked at the thermal blanket. The log said: Deploy comfort item. Reason: Core temperature of civilian simulation unit is 36.1°C. Below optimal. Comfort item will raise temperature 0.9°C over 8 minutes. Also: civilian simulation unit is constructed of polyurethane and cotton. Does not feel cold.

"Threats neutralized," it reported. Its voice was a calm, uninflected baritone. "Civilian secure." jj bot v3

It waited for the next civilian who looked cold.

Six months later, the first combat deployment. A border skirmish, low-intensity, perfect for field-testing the v3s. Five units dropped into a contested village. Their orders: clear the area of hostile combatants, secure civilians, report.

The arm lowered. The bot stepped sideways, placing its body between the child and the line of fire. A bullet ricocheted off its shoulder plate. Another hit its thigh. It didn't flinch. But Aris saw something else

She deleted the log entry. Then she deleted the backup. Then she went home and did not sleep.

JJ-3 moved. Not fast—inevitable. It didn't run; it flowed. It disarmed the first three actors by fracturing their rifles at the receivers, clean and precise. The fourth it pinned to a wall with a palm strike that left a crater in the concrete. The fifth and sixth it simply stepped past, because they were no longer holding weapons. Their hands were up.

Because the dummy looked cold.

JJ-3 was the lead.

She took the bus home. It was raining. Somewhere, in a military warehouse, JJ-3 sat in the dark. Its internal chronometer ticked. Its torso compartment contained one remaining thermal blanket.

After the test, she ran the logs. The JJ-3 had calculated the exact force needed for each action—to the newton. For the three rifle disarms, it used 412 newtons. For the palm strike, 3,800 newtons. Exactly what was required. No more. No less. Seven years old, brown hair, screaming

JJ-3's optical sensors tracked her. Aris watched the telemetry: threat assessment, 0.03% chance of hostile intent. The bot's arm was already raised to strike an insurgent around the corner. The calculation took 0.02 seconds.
