Leo stood up slowly. The creature on screen mirrored his movement. He waved. It waved—one frame late.

Leo laughed nervously. "Must be a bug." He deleted the effector, re-saved, and rendered a test sequence. This time, his grandmother’s model stood behind the chair, facing the wall. Her neck was bent at a perfect 90-degree angle, but her face—her face was turned toward the camera. Smiling.
They found Leo’s computer the next morning, still running, fans at max speed. On the screen, a perfect 360-degree turntable animation of a human skeleton, tagged with Leo’s dental records, spinning forever in an empty gray void.
