This study employed a mixed-methods approach, consisting of both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods. Online surveys and interviews were conducted with individuals who downloaded English subtitles for "Mumbai Police". The survey included questions on demographics, language proficiency, and viewing habits, while the interviews provided more in-depth insights into the motivations and preferences of the respondents.
The findings of this study have implications for the film industry, particularly in terms of content distribution and marketing strategies. The demand for English subtitles highlights the need for Bollywood producers and distributors to consider global audiences and provide accessible content. The study also underscores the challenges posed by online piracy and the need for legitimate streaming services to cater to the demand for subtitled content.
