What they got instead was seven seasons of relentless moral ambiguity, staggering body counts, and a philosophical descent into "who is the real monster?" When The 100 premiered on The CW in March 2014, it was easy to dismiss it as just another teen dystopian drama. The premise felt familiar: a nuclear apocalypse has rendered Earth uninhabitable; survivors live in a space station called the Ark; and a group of 100 juvenile delinquents are sent down to the deadly ground to see if it’s safe.
