When Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth launched in 2014, it carried the weight of Alpha Centauri ’s legacy on its shoulders. While the base game was a solid 4X strategy title, many felt it was missing the soul and mechanical depth of its spiritual predecessor.
