Sega partnered with Big Red Button Entertainment (a studio founded by veterans of Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter ) to create a separate continuity from the mainline Sonic games.

Thanks to patches and the passage of time, Rise of Lyric is playable now. It’s not good , but it’s a fascinating museum piece.
