The film's pacing is patient, allowing us to feel Ishaan’s suffocation before offering relief.
After being expelled from school, he is sent to a harsh boarding school, where his spirit is systematically crushed. He stops speaking, drawing, and playing. His salvation arrives in the form of a temporary art teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), who recognizes the classic signs of —a condition Ishaan has been suffering from alone.
